About HT Systems

HT Systems is an assistive technology company that uses engineering ingenuity to develop solutions to assist the elderly and disabled. Our goal is to transform the lives of people in care, through clever design.

Our first product, the Kera sit2sit hoist, has already made a huge difference in the lives of people living with disability.

There are over 600,000 Australasians and millions more globally that need assistance from a device like the Kera sit2sit every day and with an aging population this number is growing.

Over 20 years ago Keith Alexander (the inventor behind the global phenomenon, Springfree trampoline) started work on a new way to transfer people in care, with support from the University of Canterbury. In January 2018, HT Systems was formed to bring Keith’s innovative concept to market.

Working in close collaboration with a wide range of health professionals, caregivers and patients, in real situations, we have developed Kera sit2sit to where it is today; a comfortable, safe and easy-to-use solution that is equally “at home” in the home or in a care facility.

Our founding team have a strong mission and driving vision to ensure a safer and easier way of transferring people in care. We aim to ensure safe working environments for caregivers, respectful support of people in care and ultimately, to enable people to live their best lives.

The Kera sit2sit is only the beginning, we plan to be a multiproduct, global technology company.

Richard is an experienced senior leader with a broad experience in product and P&L ownership, marketing and business development.
Richard is responsible for development and execution of strategy as well as the overall management of the business.

Alex is a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Canterbury.
Alex has developed Keith’s initial concept to the product that is available in market today. Alex is responsible for the technical aspects of the business including manufacturing and production.

Founder, Director and Technical Guru
Keith is our founder and technical guru.
Keith is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Canterbury and the inventor of the Springfree trampoline. He has always been interested in efficient, mechanical solutions and invented the initial transfer aid concept.
Keith is excited to see his original concept now changing lives by giving caregivers and those they care for, an option that better meets their needs.

Mark is a successful entrepreneur, running his own lighting business for over two decades.
Mark is responsible for development of our NZ Direct business.
Mark has first hand experience as a User of the Kera Travel hoist and can help guide you with NZ funding.
